The Karnataka government has announced that it will implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, which includes a 27.5% increase in basic salary for state government employees. This change will take effect on August 1 and will impact over 7 lakh state government employees. The 7th State Pay Commission was established on November 19, 2022, and submitted its report to the government on March 24, 2024. The state cabinet reviewed and accepted these recommendations on June 15, 2024.
